Water plays an important role in
the practice of Silat Seni Gayong.No matter where it comes from, rain,river,dew
and so on , it is very essential. As a Silat Seni Gayong practitioners we need
to gain this knowledge. Water are used for many things such as ablution,
drinking etc. Whether it is in Malaysia
or even in any Silat Seni Gayong gelanggang thru out the globe. On this
occasion I would like to share how important water in the art of Silat Seni Gayong. Despite,
known accepting a new student is a compulsory initiation the adat perlimau with the manners.
Beside that there are also practice of bathing which should be done early
Friday morning. This petua and ilmu are rarely known except for the old
students who had a chance to trained in the old days and old ways.
It was told by the great
legendary teacher and even told by the ultimate beneficiary that it has to be
practiced when bathing every Friday morning. Bathing is cleaning oneself for
purifying the body and soul. With this it is preparing ourselves for the purity
of mind, soul, daily life and so on.

It doesn't stop there, it
continued with another bathing practice that increase the spirit. It means that
if someone perform in a demonstration he will played with full of spirit and to
give all the best. But beside that the water is also make for drinking.
Nowadays maybe it has not been practice anymore or only for a few those who
knows.
Bathing with dew in the early
morning will give a good body health. In some practice the dew was used to
practice the iron palm. Taking the balance of the dew that stuck at the edge of
the grass or leaves and applied on hand with amal and petua will give you iron
palm. There is also another method ,while washing a hand after finish a lunch
or dinner, rubbing the water that left after the washing until it dry will give
you the same result.
The water in our everyday life
plays a bigger role in shaping the globe and we are part of the world. As like
the land it need water for many reasons and so do we. Only the wise has this
knowledge and seek it while you can through the masters that really qualified.
