Buckingham Palace


            Buckingham Palace is located in the City of Westminster and served as the official London residence of British Monarch. The Palace is very much a working building and a centre of Britain’s monarchy. It houses the offices of those who support day to day activities and duties of The Britain’s Royal. The Royal Household those who manage any event pertaining with the palace are the department responsible for Royal ceremonies, States Visits, Investitures and that related to The Royal schedules. Although in use for many official events and reception held by The Queen, the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year for most of August to September. The State Rooms house some of the family’s greatest treasure including paintings and the finest French and English furniture. When visited the State Rooms, visit as well the spectacular Palace ballroom and Palace garden with view of the west of the Palace and lake.

The Guard Marches To The Palace

           The moments waited by many visitors when visiting Buckingham Palace is the changing of guard ceremony take place. The changing of guard takes place in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace at 11.30am everyday in summer and every other day in winter. The New Guard marches to the Palace from Wellington Barracks with a Guards band, the Old Guard hands over in a ceremony during which the sentries are changed and then returns to barracks. The proper name of the ceremony is actually the Guard Mounting. The Queen’s Guard are the mounted troopers of the Household Cavalry who guard the official entrance to Buckingham Palace. They wear a full dress uniform of red tunics and bearskins. The Buckingham Palace is one of the main attractions when visiting London and also marked the monarchy system of the British.
