Gayong Brotherhood.

         When we have decided to take Gayong as our martial arts disciple we must considering the brotherhood of Gayong. In Gayong brotherhood are part of the teaching, that all Silat Seni Gayong practitioners are our brothers no matter what colour they are. If they have a problem its our responsibility to help or given a hand to soften their grief.

         That is what happen to Hichem and Lotf. during their training, they are brought to a  few of Gayong's training ground to feel the brotherhood of Gayong within. They train together , feeling the pain together and tried to work as a team and got the chance to trained with various kind of Gayong's students and feel the unification of this old arts.

Where Are You......

      Since I taught them , we have lost contact. The news that I heard that Hichem continuing teaching various martial arts discipline in Kuwait and I have seen his video that was published in you tube. My feeling that felt proud of him  because his still teaching although its not hundred percent Gayong. May he doing well in his activities and hope one day of seeing him again. I do remember now that if  I am not mistaken it was year 1991 he came back to Malaysia looking for me and during that time I was busy traveling in and out the country. He left me a watch by the brand of citizen which I kept until today. Thank you my student Hichem.
     And as per Lotf I have not heard from him since then. I was in Tunisia last few years but due to my tight schedule I have no chance trying to contact him. I guess I have totally lost contact with him but I do hope his doing his best in whatever he venture too.
     To both of my students I do proud of you and hoping someday we can meet and have the fun together. Be proud of who you are and happy with what you are doing.

The Language

       In teaching the most common problem is language. Seems that both Hichem and Lotf spoke Arabic which I and my friend didnt understand during that time. So we take that opportunity to learned their language. The language that Lotf taught me are French. That time I learned how to conducted a training in French and I teach them Malay. That was a great experiences changing different culture and sharing different languages. I feel that the world was so near to me.

The Training

     The training took two exclusive weeks and a very intensive workout. started in the morning at 8am and a break at noon for lunch and continue at 2pm until 5pm before continuing at night. It was a bloody 14 days intensive teaching. But that time we teach without been paid , if compared nowadays . The love for Gayong are really great and the satisfaction while teaching is enough for me and my friend.
     We trained and sleep together at the office of Silat seni Gayong which are located at Taman Nirwana , Ampang. The office situated at a building block with a 3 floors. The administration office are at the third floor, while the second floor are where I and my partners teaching both of the foreigners. at the ground floor of the block as I remember there is a bread shop owned by an Indian or  Pakistani that I not sure.
     Both Hichem and Lotf  training started with a warming up exercise and from my view of point they are not fit during that time to have the intensive training.Starting with warming up and gone through to " Senaman Anak Harimau" until the third stage . Completing the "Seni Kunci Mati" ," Seni Kunci Hidup" and " Pukulan" or Combat.

Kuwait and Tunisia

       Its all started when I got a called from the Adminstrater of Silat Seni Gayong to teach a student from Kuwait and Tunisia .As far as I remember it was year 1988.I reported myself with my colleague , Zailan to perfom the responsibility.It was a pleasured to have been trusted by the office to teach Gayong to foreign students.I met with two of them , one was from Kuwait , and his friend are from Tunisia.Been given a name Hichem Saleh alJasser from Kuwait and Lotf Kdhiri from Tunisia.

      Hichem Saleh alJasser was borned in Nov 29,1962 and attach to a Kuwait Royal Navy as a captain.He is a Kokushinkai Karate practitioner and a holder of first degree black belt. While his friend Lotf Kdhiri was born in March 4,1962 and have a background in Shotokan Karate holding a brown belt and a blue belt in Taekwondo. Both of them has the background of a martial artist and that make it easy for them to work on the training.
